The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corp. has chosen a pool of seven agencies for its lottery account: BBDO Canada, Bensimon•Byrne D’Arcy, DraftWorldwide, MacLaren McCann, Microforum Communications, Palmer Jarvis DDB and TAXI Advertising & Design. The budget is estimated at more than $17 million.

TAXI has also picked up the Viagra direct-to-consumer business from Pfizer Canada of Kirkland, Que. Euro RSCG Healthcare of Montreal keeps the physician marketing account. The 1999 ad spend for Viagra was $1.3 million, according to ACNielsen.

Hewlett-Packard Canada has moved its media buying account to Optimedia Canada as part of a worldwide alignment with France-based Publicis SA. The Canadian business, previously with Saatchi & Saatchi, is estimated at more than $10 million.

After reviewing its agency roster, Telus has narrowed its list to Lanyon Phillips Communications (business), Palmer Jarvis DDB (consumer) and TAXI Advertising & Design (Telus Mobility). Highwood Communications and Ogilvy & Mather did not make the cut. The Telus brand and reputation business stays with a consortium of Omnicom agencies: BBDO, GPC, Lanyon Phillips and PNMD Communication.
