After five years and 124 editorial cartoons, we're sad to say that Bruce Scott, Strategy's resident wit, is packing it in to take a one-year graphic design posting in the Bahamas....

After five years and 124 editorial cartoons, we’re sad to say that Bruce Scott, Strategy’s resident wit, is packing it in to take a one-year graphic design posting in the Bahamas.

Scott, a fixture at advertising and media industry parties – despite the fact he rarely had an invitation – has used his space on our editorial page to take the pee out of everything from egomaniacal creative directors to Eatons’ experiment with aubergine. And for that, we shall be eternally grateful.

We did ask him to consider doing the toon from afar, but aside from the practical considerations – principally, lack of contact with the Canadian marketing and media community – he’s going to use any spare time he has to work on his tan. And who can blame him?

So we’re saying goodbye. At least until we feel like a Bahamian holiday.
