DUO TEAMS ON TV GAME PORTAL

Toronto-based Hip Interactive, a multi-channel provider of PC and console games, and ZAQ, an interactive TV solution provider, are launching an interactive TV game channel – to be made available this month to cable and satellite providers worldwide. Using their TV sets, cable subscribers will have access to ZAQ’s game portal as well as games and services developed by Hip, including game news, advice, reviews, online game purchases, chat rooms and contests. The partners contend the game channel will be an attractive property with which to woo subscribers, since games are one of the major incentives for consumers to sign up for interactive television.
