Bridgestone/Firestone Canada has chosen Griffin Bacal Volny of Toronto to handle its $4-million-plus corporate and consumer advertising business. The shortlist included Bates Canada in association with Jam, a firm that does some consumer work for the tire maker, as well as Grey Advertising, and Groundzero Marketing Communications. Cormark MacPhee keeps the commercial business.

Club Med World, a recreation and entertainment concept backed by vacation marketer Club Med, has hired Publicis Dialog to launch its Montreal location, the second in the world, this spring. The complex incorporates theme restaurants and a stage for variety shows. Publicis was also involved with the opening of the first Club Med World last summer in Paris.

The Ontario Ministry of Economic Development and Trade has awarded its $1-million-plus Market Ontario account to three agencies, following a review that ended with a shortlist of five. The winners are incumbent Manx Strategic Creative, Fuel, and Waplington Forty McGall.
