IMG Canada, Toronto, recently named Sarah Clarke to manager of program sales. She has 10 years experience in film, home video, educational, TV and in-flight sales and acquisitions and has worked for such companies as Sullivan Entertainment, Sportworld Network Australia, and EIM in Los Angeles.


Vancouver-based Palmer Jarvis DDB has promoted John Leggatt to executive VP, managing director of PJ DDB Midwest at its Edmonton office. Leggatt, who ran his own ad shop in Alberta which merged with Palmer Jarvis in 1988, was previously senior VP, managing director. At his new post, he is responsible for the strategic development and direction of the agency’s operations in Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba.

Bat Cave Productions, a Toronto firm that specializes in marketing to youth, recently announced two new hires: Brent Farrell, as VP, who will oversee new-business development and online program strategy, and Sussan Burton, as account manager. Both hail from Toronto-based Microforum Inc.

Larry Peloso has been promoted to VP & CD of Communiqué Live, the event marketing and incentives division of Communiqué Group, Toronto. Formerly Live’s CD, he brings over 20 years of corporate communications experience to the table.

Sara Lamb has been promoted from senior account director to group account director at Bryant, Fulton & Shee Advertising in Vancouver.

Cossette Communication Group’s Vancouver office recently announced two promotions: John Hall, now VP, strategic planner, will assume strategic planning responsibilities for major clients and new business pitches. Michele Kitchen, newly appointed VP, director of client services, will oversee all account management functions, as well as handle business planning and financial management activities for clients.

Toronto-based Bimm Communications Group has announced five new appointments: Ian Bryce-Buchanan as account director on the COGECO Cable and @Home Internet business, where he will lead a corporate branding and Web design exercise; Sheree Lantin as account supervisor on COGECO Cable, where she will handle communications and interactive projects; Joanne Clark as account supervisor on Pitney Bowes, Fantom Technologies and Fujifilm; Lynda Sydney as copywriter; and Dawn Ainikkal as production co-ordinator for integrated communications projects.

MacLaren McCann West has added two new players to its roster. Meredith Toward is its new account executive on the General Motors account and Scot Keith signed on as account director on Rogers Video. Toward hails from DCC Communications in Toronto, while Keith makes the move from Bryant Fulton Shee, Vancouver.

Pascal Hierholz has been named CD at Montreal-based shop SVY&R, where he was senior art director from 1996 to 1998. Hierholz, who speaks several languages, has worked as an art director at some of France’s biggest agencies, included Havas, Publicis and SDBO.

Jean-Jacques Stréliski has stepped down from his post of president and CCO at PNMD Communication, Montreal. Stréliski, who says he has met the goals set out for him, plans to take some time to ‘reflect before taking the next step.’ Martin Beauvais, who joined the agency in 1997 and was most recently partner and VP, creative director, will replace Stréliski.


Eva Horn has signed up with the National Post Online as marketing and sales co-ordinator, where she will assist the ad sales team and facilitate marketing, advertising, public relations and research. Horn hails from York University, where she was an administration assistant at The Canadian Centre for German and European Studies.
