Prime Restaurants in Toronto has appointed Anna Di Pede as SVP of marketing and brand development. She joins from agency MacLaren McCann. Jennifer May McAvoy, who joined the chain in 1991, has been promoted from director of marketing to VP of marketing.

Mike Haskell, president and CEO of Markham, Ont.-based Allstate Insurance Company of Canada, has moved to Allstate Corp.’s U.S. headquarters in Northbrook, Ill., where he takes the post of VP, product operations. He will be replaced by Mike Donoghue, who worked at Allstate (Canada) as VP of claims during the 1980s.

Véronique Viellerobe has joined beauty and fashion group PUIG Canada as head of media and public relations.

John Peloza has been named managing director of Bryant, Fulton & Shee’s Calgary office. He moves from the agency’s Vancouver location, where he held the position of director of response marketing.

Palmer Jarvis DDB in Toronto has promoted Jim Herrler to president. He previously held the post of exec VP, managing director.

Toronto-based Envoy Communications has appointed Tom Wright as president and COO. Wright, who was previously president and CEO at Salomon North America, assumes responsibility for day-to-day operations.

Marketing solutions company Mosaic Group has added four new members to its Toronto team. Janet Schoel, Laura Forester and Don McHardy all join Mosaic’s Direct & Interactive division. Lance Mohring joins the group’s professional interactive services company, McGill.

Publicis Montreal has appointed Stéphanie Lauzon as account director. Lauzon has worked in the industry for 10 years and most recently worked at Cossette.

Grey Worldwide Canada in Toronto has appointed Shelon Ho as account supervisor and Paul Martinez as director of print production. Martinez brings experience from a variety of suppliers and agencies, most recently having worked at Brann Worldwide. Ho comes from OgilvyOne, New York.

Vancouver-based Grey Worldwide Northwest has hired Rick Goddard as account manager. He was previously with Dominion Information Services.

After 18 months with MacLaren McCann, Sasha Volkau has been promoted to account director from account supervisor.

Joan Faubert has joined Ellis Teichman Communications as director of client services. She most recently worked as director of creative services at Vincor International.

Jeff Finkler has left Saatchi & Saatchi Toronto ‘due to philosophical differences.’ He joined the agency in March 2001.

Starcom Worldwide in Toronto has hired Lorraine Lupson as a broadcast buyer for the Coca-Cola and radio accounts. She was previously with Media Buying Services. Also at Starcom, Lorena Chiarotto joins from Mindshare Canada, as a direct response director, and Stacey McIntyre joins from OMD Canada as a strategy manager.

Public Relations:

Optimum PR in Vancouver has added Tanis Sullivan and Ailie Somerville to its team of account co-ordinators. Sullivan’s past experience includes a stint with Global News in Vancouver, while Scotland native Somerville recently interned with Optimum.
