This evening’s Canadian Marketing Association RSVP Awards gala celebrates 31 years of recognition of the individuals and organizations who have demonstrated excellence in results-oriented marketing.

Indeed, this showcase of the best of the best reflects the tremendous success of marketers in responding to the rapidly evolving marketplace. In fact, the record number of entries received this year featured an array of multi-channel strategies that exemplify the efforts of these exceptionally creative people, who apply their skills using leading-edge technologies.

While only a select few will be honoured this evening, we can all share in the spotlight and be proud of the recognition and respect that is paid around the world to Canadian marketers for their results-driven campaigns.

On behalf of the Canadian Marketing Association, I would like to offer my congratulations to the winners of the 2001 CMA RSVP Awards. I would also like to thank our more than 120 judges, chaired by Goodwin Gibson, Vice-President & General Manager, Blitz Promotion Data Direct, Toronto. This group of marketing experts accepted the difficult task of evaluating the record number of entries in 21 categories on the basis of bottom-line results, marketing concept, copy, design, production and overall presentation. As well, I would like to express our appreciation to the chair of RSVP Strategic Planning, Robert Morgan, Executive Vice-President and General Manager, BRANN Toronto, whose creativity and hard work helped to bring us this year’s RSVP Gala evening.

Sincerely,

John Gustavson

President and
