Neil Everett has been appointed VP of marketing at McDonald’s Restaurants of Canada. Everett, who most recently worked at Aim Fund Management in Toronto after a brief stint at the helm of Ammirati Puris, is best known for his work at Shoppers Drug Mart, where he was SVP of marketing.
General Mills Canada has created a new executive team. Doug McGillivray has been appointed from Pillsbury Canada as VP of marketing for baked goods, meals and consumer insights, and Eric Lucas has been promoted to VP of marketing for breakfast, snacks and promotions.
Calgary-based Cinnaroll Bakeries has named Don Cline as VP of franchise operations for its Cinnzeo Bakery division. His role includes providing sales and marketing support to the divisions’s north American, Middle Eastern and Southeast Asian franchise operations.

Brett Marchand is joining Toronto-based Roche Macaulay & Partners as president. The founder and president of Onside, Marchand is perhaps best known for his earlier position as VP of marketing at Molson Canadian where he led the brand’s marketing overhaul around the ‘I Am Canadian’ campaign.
Cossette Communication Marketing in Toronto has hired Stephen Creet as EVP and chief creative officer. For the past four years, Creet has been heading up the San Francisco offices of Young & Rubicam. He will join Cossette in June. Also at Cossette, Andrew Bergstrom has been promoted to SVP, national client leader for the Bell Canada account. And at the end of March, Laurie Laykish will be promoted to national account leader and VP. She will take responsibility for the McDonald’s Canada national and regional accounts.
Gilles DuSablon has been promoted by Montreal-based Marketel to the title of VP, creative director and associate. He succeeds Leon Berger who left the agency in 2001. DuSablon has been with Marketel since 1995, most recently working as creative co-director.
Palmer Jarvis DDB has added two new account directors to its brand management group in Vancouver. Scot Keith joins from MacLaren McCann West and Christina Tan has been promoted from her role as account supervisor.
Gary Chin is returning to FCB Toronto as VP, director of media. He left the agency 18 months ago to work at Carat Media in Toronto. FCB has also added Geoff Hardwicke as account director on the Coors Light business. Hardwicke previously worked at Ammirati Puris.
Quarry Integrated Communications in Waterloo, Ont., has appointed Bob Dawson as VP of interactive development. He most recently worked at Cyberplex in Waterloo.

Karin Macpherson has been promoted to managing partner at The Media Company in Toronto. She joined the company in 1990. Meanwhile, The Media Company’s Montreal-based division, Le Groupe TMC has named Gloria Di Ioia as managing partner. She is a 20-year veteran of the agency, most recently as VP, general manager of the Quebec operation.
CanWest Media Sales in Toronto has named Ken Johnson as SVP, head of television sales and Ron Clark as SVP of the newspaper division.
Toronto-based News Canada has promoted Yvonne Webb to VP of sales. She previously held the title of director of business development in Canada and the U.S.
Owner of the Toronto Star, Torstar Corporation, has created a new team responsible for integrated marketing and sales campaigns. Susan Courtney and Margaret Lum have been appointed as integration managers of the new group.

Blitz Direct in Vancouver has made several additions and promotions within its team to reflect the growth of its western Canadian business. Mike Hastings joins from FCB Direct in Toronto as account executive, and Jennifer Cowie comes on board as account coordinator. Lakhvir Brar has been promoted to account supervisor and Karen Mathers to manager, project management office.
Toronto-based Blast Radius has appointed Brett Turner as general manager and SVP of client development. He previously worked at Roundarch. John Marcine also comes on board as director of business development.

Heather Gray-Grant, marketing director at Fasken Martineau DuMoulin LLP in Vancouver, has been elected president-elect for the U.S.-based Legal Marketing Association (LMA). Gray-Grant is the first non-American to take on this role.
