Montreal-based Aeroplan, which is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Air Canada, has appointed Luce Veilleux to the post of VP and CMO, and Marc Girard to VP and CFO. Veilleux was formerly VP of marketing for retail and commercial banking at RBC Royal Bank, while Girard has senior experience from the BCE Group, including SVP and CFO of BCE Media.

Glenn Dobbin has joined Ontario Place Corporation in Toronto as general manager. Dobbin makes the move from London, U.K., where he was GM at Legoland Windsor.

Tribal DDB Canada, the digital and interactive division of Vancouver-based Palmer Jarvis DDB, adds new CD, Bruce Sinclair, who will be responsible for overseeing creative development and production of Web-based marketing campaigns.

Calgary-based RareMethod has promoted Mike Allan from the post of lead strategist to VP, strategy. Prior to joining RareMethod, he was the president of Stickman Interactive.

BrandTrust, a Toronto-based business and marketing development firm, has announced the appointment of Vladimir Uher as VP, business practice leader. Uher will be responsible for client and project. He will also function in an advisory capacity on BrandTrust’s consumer packaged goods and pharmaceuticals business accounts.

Vancouver-based Grey Worldwide Northwest recently hired Lisa Bishop as account executive and Jennifer Stitt as account co-ordinator, to work on the Starbucks business. Bishop hails from Resort Reservations Network, while Stitt was PR co-ordinator at The Fairmont Chateau Whistler.

Deborah Jones, former manager of events and marketing for Canada Place Corporation, has opened her own events and marketing company in Vancouver, D.M. Jones & Associates.

Toronto-based Manifest Communications, a social issue and cause marketing agency, has hired Eva Melamed as account executive. Melamed was previously with Bell Canada, where she worked in media relations.

London, Ont.-based Honey Design, Marketing & Communications has appointed Vida Brodie as project manager.

Joining Toronto agency Axmith McIntyre Wicht as account executive is Melissa Ramos. Most recently from Anderson DDB, Ramos will handle the Interac, Panasonic and Toronto Works accounts.

Interactive agency nurun Toronto has promoted Bill Hogg to VP, interactive marketing. He has over 20 years of experience working on fully integrated marketing programs for both national and international clients.

Toronto-based Quattro Communications has promoted Adam Atkinson to manager, promotions, sports and event marketing. Former account manager Robert McKay becomes manager, business development, while account manager Angélique Strotmann has been appointed manager, communications.

Victoria B.C.-based Malahat Group International (MGI) has added Rod Grainger as CD/writer and Lori Waters as account executive. Grainger was with Ogilvy & Mather in Asia and Africa, while Waters served six years as a marketing manager in the high-tech sector.

Toronto-based Spencer Francey Peters has hired Susan Murray as director of brand strategy. Murray comes to SFP from Quidnunc, New York.

Bell Globemedia, Toronto, has appointed Rick Brace as president of CTV; he moves to the position from the role of president of CTV Specialty Television. Meanwhile, Kevin Shea, former group VP, convergence at Bell Globemedia, has stepped down, due to the company’s decision to ‘withdraw from new business ventures such as place-based media,’ according to a press release.

CBC Radio in Toronto has named Jane Chalmers VP of CBC Radio, effective Nov. 1. Last year, Chalmers was appointed director of current affairs and weekly programs for CBC Television.
