Stephen Ing has joined Vancouver-based Fairmont Hotels & Resorts as director of group sales for the Fairmont Chateau Whistler. He was previously director of group sales at the Westin Resort & Spa, also in Whistler.
Nike Canada, Toronto, has hired Derek Kent as head of corporate communications. Previously, Kent was VP at Veritas Communications.
Rogers AT&T Wireless has appointed Suzanne McMeans to the position of manager, corporate communications. She comes from GCI Group where she was group manager, technology practice.
AGENCIES
Vancouver’s Inventa Sales and Promotions has promoted three, including Rebecca Lee who becomes director of client service, along with Stephanie Whitney and Alexa Newton who each become director, client development. All three were previously in client management positions.
Claire Mooney has moved from Vancouver’s Wasserman & Partners, where she was production manager, to the agency’s subsidiary, Detroit Creative. She assumes the newly created position of director of operations.
Gwen Deverell has been appointed to the new position of director of business development at Toronto-based Channel 500, a full-service direct-response television agency. She previously headed the firm’s U.K. office.
Toronto-based ad agency Rya has appointed Rysia Adam to the newly created position of director, sales and media.

A new, independent media buying company, Treehouse Media, has launched in Victoria, B.C. Partners are Steve Hutchinson and Carole Hutchinson.
Darren Spratt, formerly Ontario sales manager with Zoom Media, has moved to Toronto-based youth marketing firm red cat media as VP sales for Canada and the U.S.
Toronto-based broadcaster TSN has promoted Paul McLean to executive producer of events, from senior producer of CFL and curling coverage.
PUBLIC RELATIONS
Pierre Bouchard has been appointed to the post of VP, public relations and communication at Montreal-based AGC Communications. He’s previously held senior positions with organizations including BCE Emergis and Ordres comptables agréés du Quebec.
Ottawa-based National Public Relations has appointed David Gollob to the position of VP, communications group. Gollob was formerly a bureau chief with CBC Television News.
Toronto-based Maverick Communications has appointed Gillian Lowe to the position of chief creative officer. Lowe previously ran boutique Los Angeles-based PR firm Kaboom PR.
