Canada may not have had the golden touch at the ADC 89th Annual Awards gala in New York, but it certainly found the silver lining.
Canucks took home a total of 13 winning entries, good for the fifth best country over all behind the USA (122), Germany (26), Japan (22) and the United Kingdom (16). Out of the Canadian haul, nine entries won silver, one won bronze and three won merit awards. Taxi’s Viagra Confessions campaign on behalf of Pfizer being the most successful Canadian effort, bringing home four silvers in the Broadcast Media Television and Cinema category.
To give an indication of the overall picture, Agency of the Year went to BBDO New York, Network of the Year went to Y&R, Interactive Agency of the Year went to Goodby, Silverstein & Partners, San Francisco, Design Team of the Year went to the New York Times magazine, and School of the Year ended up in a tie, going to the School of Visual Arts in New York, and Miami Ad School.
