New hires grow Grey’s digital expertise

Jason Theodor joins the agency as CD digital, Dylan Moggey as associate CD and Tod Lawson as senior art director.

Toronto-based Grey Canada strengthened its digital deftness with the addition of three new members to its creative team. Jason Theodor has been named CD, digital, Dylan Moggey associate CD and Todd Lawson senior art director.

‘We’re pleased to be expanding the agency with such socially connected, early adopters who will drive the interactive experience for clients and staff with strategic and progressive ideas,’ said Carl Jones, VP, executive CD, Grey Canada, in a release.

Theodor, who started his career at MacLaren McCann Interactive, brings more than ten years experience to Grey, working on brands including Nutella Canada, Yahoo! Canada, Yellow Pages, American Express, RBC and Nestle. He introduced Time Piper’s ‘Dove Evolution’ spot to YouTube in 2006 and brought Ferrero into the world of social media by launching Ella Nutella on Twitter. He arrives at Grey from his most recent gig at Critical Mass.

Ikea, Stringfellows, British Telecom, FIDO, Visa, Volvo, Kraft, Reckitt Benckiser and GlaxoSmithKline are just some of the brands that Moggey has worked on since he began his career at In2 Design in the U.K. He later joined DCSL Software, also based in the U.K, as an interactive art director and senior designer, but in 2005 he landed in Toronto where he started up his own web development and digital design shop called Garnish. He’s landed at Grey from Sharpe Blackmore Euro RSCG, where he was senior digital art director.

Lawson boasts over a decade’s worth of experience in publishing, CGI, graphic design, illustration and print and interactive advertising. Once a senior art director at Dashboard, he left and, in 2009, launched Miner Thought, a company that focused on the marriage of commercial, branding and artistic endeavours for non-profit partners. He has experience servicing brands including Corus, H&R Block, the LCBO and the World Society for the Protection of Animals.
