Doug & Serge to drive Ontario Honda dealer advertising

The agency has been named as the association's AOR with creative set to begin appearing in February.

The Ontario Honda Dealers Association (OHDA) is letting Toronto-based Doug & Serge get behind the wheel as its new AOR. The OHDA’s announcement follows a rigorous agency review it conducted with a shortlist of four agencies, which was whittled down from 70 initial candidates.

‘It was a great experience to go through, the search process, and we had a lot of very good companies come forward looking for the business,’ says Peter Gough, general manager central zone, Honda Canada. ‘What came through from Doug & Serge was a young and enthusiastic group who had an auto background and had very similar ideas to what we had in terms of better getting the message out to consumers.’

The agency officially started working with the OHDA on Jan. 3, taking over from the association’s previous creative partner, Vancouver-based Harfield & Associates. Creative is set to start rolling out in February. PHD handles media for the association, which comprises 78 Honda dealers across Ontario, retailing approximately 50,000 vehicles each year.
