Y&R in Toronto has continued its recent hiring blitz with two new additions, bringing Rob Gee on board as director of creative technology and Alexis Victor as creative curator, filling two newly created capacities at the agency.
‘We figured that part of how we’ll get to great creative solutions is by injecting our Agency with different players whom we can weave into the problem-solving process,’ says Israel Diaz, EVP, CCO, Y&R Canada. ‘By adding expertise in emerging technology as well as having context in cultural and societal trends very early into the process helps ensure we’re consistently being innovative with our ideas and not falling into the trap of doing what’s already been done.’
Gee is joining Y&R from Blammo Worldwide, where he was director of interactive. His responsibilities in his new position will see him take an advisory role dealing with newly emerging technology, with a focus on shaping digital ideas and innovation across the agency. He will work hand-in-hand with the creative, account and production teams.
Victor arrives at Y&R from Hesty Reps, bringing with her a background in working with clients across creative platforms, including advertising, production and interactive studios. Her mandate includes keeping the agency up on ‘what’s hot and what’s not’ in global culture and emerging trends, as well as helping to build and cultivate an agency culture with a focus on creativity at its core.
