Vancouver International Aiport has chosen Taxi Vancouver to launch a new campaign getting Canadians to consider Asia as their next vacation destination.
Set to launch next month, the campaign will include “visually impactful media” and experiential components for the airport, known as YVR. At the peak period in August, there are up to 134 direct flights weekly to Asia from the airport. There are currently 13 carriers with service routes between the airport and 10 major destinations in Asia.
YVR is also the only airport in North America with service from four mainland China carriers, and will soon be adding China Eastern Airlines’ direct service from Vancouver to Kunming, a Chinese tourism spot and hub to other South East Asia locations.
The airport doesn’t follow an AOR model and works with a roster of agencies.
“We’ll be raising awareness of the unique qualities of Asian destinations and the fact that you can get to them so easily from YVR,” Mike Leslie, Taxi Vancouver’s general manager, said in a press release. “This is the first time we have worked with YVR and we’re thrilled to be partnering with this strong brand and world-class airport. We’re excited about being part of YVR’s future success.”
