Sandbox gets an ECD

Trevor Schoenfeld joins the shop from Ariad Communications in the newly-created role.


Sandbox Advertising has hired Trevor Schoenfeld as its new executive creative director, a new role at the agency.

With a career spanning 25 years, Schoenfeld was most recently creative director at Ariad Communications and has held roles at Brooklyn7 (including as ECD), Y&R and SapientNitro, among others. Some of his past clients include Ford, Volvo, BMW, Royal Canin, Nespresso, CIBC, Coca-Cola’s Simply Orange brand, Corona, Bell and Interac.

Prior to Schoenfeld coming on board last week, Jacob Gawrysiak and Michel Lang were running the creative team as co-creative directors at Sandbox. The pair will continue to support Schoenfeld across all clients.

Sandbox, which came out of One Advertising joining three American agencies last year, now has offices in Toronto, Chicago, Kansas City, Los Angeles and New York. In June, it added to its leadership team by bringing on directors for media and production and promoting Dave Rewak, previously VP and director of strategic planning, to VP and managing director.
