In the pursuit of honouring ideas and being the benchmark standard for creative recognition, the Ad Rodeo Anvil Awards is expanding its scope.
“This coming November, entries for the 2017 Ad Rodeo Anvil Awards will be open to all of Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba, making it the only advertising & design award show to represent creative talent from across all three Prairie Provinces.”– Ric Fedyna, President of Ad Rodeo.
With the expansion, the Ad Rodeo Anvil Awards will be encouraging a higher standard of creative excellence from all entries, showcasing the best of the best in the Prairies and ensuring the continued relevance of the show in an ever-changing marketplace. In order to achieve this ambitious goal and to ensure that the show continues to grow, the Ad Rodeo Association has made some fundamental changes:
- Director of Entries: David Bell, Owner & Founder of Winnipeg based Dash Agency, has been appointed to Director of Entries. As one of Marketing Magazine’s 30 Under 30, David brings a new level of energy and enthusiasm to the board along with a deep understanding of the Prairie market.
- Iceberg Award Platform: Taking advice from last year’s judging panel as well as other national award shows, we’ve adopted Iceberg as our new award submission platform — this will make life easier for those entering awards and for those judging the work.
- New Award Categories: Recognizing the ever-changing landscape of the advertising & design industry, we’ve added four additional categories to 2017 Ad Rodeo Anvil Awards: Animation, User Experience, Website Under 30K and Fearless Client.
- Earlier Award Submission Dates & Show: The Anvil Awards submission dates and show will be pushed up earlier in the calendar year, providing agencies with a valuable measuring tool for determining whether to compete in other national and international shows that occur later on in the year. Entries open on November 15th // Ad Rodeo Anvil Awards take place on April 7th, 2017.
- Attracting the Best Judges: Building on the success of the 2016 Ad Rodeo Anvils, we’re continuing to build relationships with creative leaders from across the country and beyond. In 2017, we’ll again be welcoming some of the best creatives in the industry as judges:
- Ari Elkouby // Executive Creative Director // JWT
- Joel Arbez // Executive Creative Director // Grey
- Jamie Garratt // Founder & Owner // Idea Rebel
- Ryan Lawrence // Associate Creative Director // Sid Lee
- Jane Murray // Executive Creative Director // Rain 43
- Keri Zierler // Associate Creative Director // Digital Kitchen
- Nick Richards // Executive Creative Director & Founder // Will
