Canadian agencies win 58 honours at 2023 Epica Awards

Canadian agencies were well-recognized at this year’s Epica Awards on Thursday (Dec. 7). After Canada led all countries with 98 total nominations this year, several agencies were rewarded with Gold medals at this year’s event.

The Epica Awards jury is made up of international members of the advertising and marketing trade press, including strategy.

Canadian agencies won 58 total awards during Thursday’s event, which was livestreamed on YouTube, including five Gold, 21 Silver and 32 Bronze. Big winners among agencies at this year’s awards included Leo Burnett Toronto, which picked up 15 awards, Rethink which won 13 awards and Zulu Alpha Kilo, which was awarded 10.

Rounding out Canadian agencies, LG2 picked up six awards, Citizen Relations received four awards, McCann Canada won three awards, Cossette, FCB Canada and VML/Taxi received two, while Fuse Create won one award.

Gold awards were handed out to Leo Burnett Toronto’s “Hair Hair Everywhere” campaign for Proctor and Gamble in the Online Ads category, Rethink’s “Heinz Ketchup Fraud” campaign for Kraft Heinz in the Food and Integrated Campaigns categories, and Zulu Alpha Kilo’s “Left-Handed Mango Chutney” campaign in the Humour and Self-Promotion categories.
