BBM/CARF announces conference lineup

Audience measurement and reporting techniques will be the centre of this year’s bbm/carf one-day conference on March 1 in Toronto.

Gale Metzger, president of Statistical Research, and Nicholas Schiavone, vice-president, media & marketing research at nbc, will speak at the event, called Staying Tuned, about research in the u.s. on smart, or the Systems for Measuring and Reporting Television initiative.

The thrust of smart is to develop advanced audience measurement and reporting techniques needed to keep up with changes in tv technology.

From England, Phil Gullen, managing director of CARAT Research, will speak on ‘Commercials – Who’s Really Watching?’

The CARAT Foretel research program featured in Gullen’s presentation will show that ratings are not all equal.

Among the radio sessions planned are Radio Format Research and Merging Data Bases on Radio Audience Research.

Tickets to Staying Tuned cost $250 for a full day or $200 for a half-day. Registration forms are available from bbm or carf. DC
