Sprint Canada intends to sell The Most Worldwide residential long-distance service in selected Zellers stores beginning in mid-August.
Dave Hagen, vice-president of Sprint Canada’s consumer services group, says Sprint joined up with Zellers for its six-million customer base and its many ethnic customers.
He says ethnic Canadians tend to be big long-distance callers.
According to Hagen, for the time being, The Most Worldwide will be sold rather like department store credit cards are sold in-store.
He says it has not been decided yet if Sprint Canada will at some point take over some Zellers store space and set up Sprint Canada boutiques.
The Most Worldwide is Sprint Canada’s recently introduced long-distance residential phone service.
Hagen says reaction to The Most Worldwide has been good.
He says in its first week, July 11-18, the long-distance service attracted more than 10,000 sign-ups. DC
