Two high-tech companies specializing in fax services are preparing to launch fax mail boxes.
This month, u.s.-based Delrina, which has offices in Toronto, will begin rolling out a product called Delrina Fax MailBox.
In May, AlphaNet Telecom, which has its headquarters in California, will introduce FollowFax For Windows in the u.s.
The Canadian launch will take place later in the year.
Both products receive and store faxes until the user retrieves them on a computer via specialized software.
The retrieval can be conducted from anywhere at anytime.
Delrina and AlphaNet once had an agreement to jointly introduce a fax mailbox service, but the plan unravelled and the two finally announced a settlement last month.

Canadian advertising for the Delrina product launch will be handled by the Boston agency, d.r.k.
AlphaNet’s advertising is handled by Keating Worldwide of New York.
Delrina is offering its Fax Mailbox service, which is made accessible by an 800 number, as a standalone product, or as part of a product bundle including voice and paging mailbox services.
The company has already struck a partnership with a u.s. telecommunications company to supply the voice and paging services.
In Canada, it is in talks with potential partner companies.
