Timex to distrib Benetton
Timex Canada will soon begin distributing the Benetton line of wristwatches in Canada.
On Feb. 21, Benetton announced the formation of a joint venture agreement with Timex USA and Germany-based Junghans Uhren that awards Timex the rights to Benetton-brand wristwatches in North America and Asia, and Junghans the rights to Benetton-brand clocks in Europe, the Confederation of Independent States, Africa, the Middle East, South America and New Zealand.
Benetton watches are positioned in the fashion segment of the watch category. The brand is a small player in the North American market.
Leo Fournier, senior product manager with Timex, says that under the agreement new Benetton designs will be introduced and Timex will significantly broaden the product’s distribution.
