Following the lead of several of its competitors in the printer industry, as well as a host of companies in other industries, Canon Canada has launched a toll-free telephone help line and a comprehensive product warranty program for its full line of printer products.
The new customer-service program – Canon claims it is the most extensive in the industry – includes 24-hour assistance by a trained telephone operator and the availability of a printer technician for telephone help from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. est Monday-Friday.
As well, if the problem cannot be solved over the phone, a Canon technician will authorize a replacement by courier. Delivery, in most cases, will occur by the next business day.
Ben Werbski, Canon’s senior manager, corporate advertising and communications, says the program will eventually be expanded to include the company’s notebook computer lines and future pc lines.
