Ramada Franchise Canada has chosen a short-list of three agencies to make presentations this week: Marin Advertising, Ellis Teichman Communications and Grey Advertising.
The winner of the $1.3-million account will be handling advertising for the 24 franchised Ramada Inns, Hotels and Suites across Canada.
The client is looking for national advertising with a regional approach.
ú A Canadian chapter of the Package Design Council International was recently established in Toronto. Its 33 members represent 20 design studios.
Thomas Pigeon, president of The Thomas Pigeon Design Group, was named chairman of the group.
The New York-based council was formed in 1952 and now has more than 200 members in seven countries.

ú Seneca College student Marla Flam and Fanshawe College student Douglas Smith were awarded Robert E. Oliver Scholarships at the Canadian Advertising Foundation’s annual general meeting held recently in Toronto.
The $1,000 scholarships, established by the foundation seven years ago, are awarded to students with genuine interest in pursing a career in marketing or advertising.
