A capacity crowd of marketers, representing 24 leading pharmaceutical companies, attended a recent Toronto seminar on the importance of product branding in the ethical pharmaceutical industry.
The seminar, held Nov. 6 at the Toronto Airport Marriott hotel, was presented by Remtulla + Associates, an ethical pharmaceutical agency based in Toronto.
Ethical pharmaceutical products are drugs that must be prescribed to patients by physicians.
Remtulla President Mehbs Remtulla, a former pharmacist and ethical drug marketer, told the audience it is important for ethical pharmaceutical marketers to gain awareness of consumer marketing techniques.
In a later interview, Remtulla said ‘branding as a concept is poorly understood in the pharmaceutical business and poorly utilized.’
He said ethical drug marketers should learn to look upon branding as ‘a major opportunity.’
