Petro-Canada is hoping to whet consumers’ appetites in Quebec and the Maritimes with a new cookbook promotion.
Last week, the Calgary-based Crown corporation introduced Cuisine International, a collection of eight soft-cover cookbooks each containing recipes from a different part of the world.
One of the books, for example, contains recipes from the south of France, while a second focusses on the north of France, and a third features samples of Chinese cuisine.
Petro-Canada is offering the books to its customers at a cost of $1.49 apiece, with the purchase of a minimum of 25 litres of gasoline per book.
Customers must present participating gasoline retailers with a Cuisine International coupon to qualify for each purchase.
Petro-Canada, which is hoping to sell up to a million cookbooks in the promotion, is blanketing households in Quebec and the Maritimes with coupons sent through the mail.
The promotion, developed by Everest Promotion, a division of Montreal ad agency Groupe Everest, will run until the end of the year.
