I just read John Burghardt’s Viewpoint on gender-biased ad icons (Strategy, Nov. 18/02, p. 12) and although I can’t really argue with him over the radio creative for Frank’s Hot Sauce, I think he really needs to weigh the social impact of Frank’s. Frank’s Hot Sauce was the key ingredient used by Teresa (creator of the authentic Buffalo Chicken Wing) at the home of the Buffalo Chicken Wing – The Anchor Bar in Buffalo, N.Y.
John may not like the advertising, but consider life without the Buffalo Chicken Wing.
