Pfizer’s Viagra ‘Confessions’ campaign’s done it again, ‘it’ being receiving kudos.
The effort, developed by Taxi, picked up a nomination in the TV commercial campaigns category at the D&AD Awards in London on June 3, following up on a successful performance ‘Confessions’ had in May at the ADC 89th Annual Awards gala in New York. There it won four silvers in the broadcast media television and cinema category.
Two more nominations went to a campaign from a Canadian shop: Sid Lee’s ‘House Party’ for Adidas got the nod in the cinematography category for the camera work of L.A.-based DOP Christopher Probst; and also scored in the direction category, for helming by London-based prodco Partizan.
Forty-two Yellow Pencils awarding work setting new standards in creative excellence were doled out on the night.
Coveted Black Pencils, which award groundbreaking work in advertising and design, went to Brisbane-based Sapient Nitro, which took home two for its much-lauded ‘The Best Job in the World’ campaign – in the integrated and direct categories. TBWAHunt Lascaris in Johannesburg won one for its ‘Trillion Dollar Flyer’ effort for The Zimbabwean newspaper, and New York’s Diller Scofidio + Renfro won in the environmental design category for ‘The High Line,’ 2.5 km of inner city park built on a section of former elevated freight railroad. Apple took the fifth Black Pencil for Apple.com.
