Manifest Communications gets a new CD

Manifest Communications has brought on Deepak Mehmi as creative director at the Toronto agency focused on social change.

Mehmi was most recently creative director at SapientNitro (where he joined as an ACD in 2006). Prior to joining Manifest, he led the U.S. and international digital creative communications business for Jeep at Fiat Chrysler Automobiles. He has also held positions at Oglivy & Mather and Henderson Bas.

Mehmi also currently teaches in York University’s communications studies department, with his academic work focused on pop cultural consumption.

“We’ve seen a hunger for cause-related advertising to deliver the same insight-driven creative that traditional marketing has long championed,” Mehmi said in a press release. “In fact, many big brands are trying to negotiate how they reach jaded consumers’ hearts through social promotions and partnerships.”

Manifest Communications has done work for Canadian Tire, Shoppers Drug Mart and the Canadian Red Cross. It also recently created the first major marketing campaign for Kids Help Phone in several years.
