Agency people moves

Doug Turney has parked his Nissan and is now driving the Honda business at Doner Schur Peppler, Toronto.

Turney joined Doner Schur Peppler last week as group management supervisor for Honda after three years as vice-president, account director at Chiat/Day handling the national and regional Nissan accounts.

He replaces Brad Fogel, who left dsp this past December to become group account director/automotive for Ford at Young & Rubicam.

Before joining Chiat/Day, Turney was with SMW Advertising and D’Arcy Masius Benton & Bowles.

Also new to Doner Schur Peppler is the agency’s creative group head, Jeff Eamer.

A 10-year veteran of the industry, Eamer is known as the creator of the award-winning Delsym hackman character, and Clearblue Easy advertising for Fisons Consumer Health.

He was senior art director at Franklin Dallas for the last two years, working on Fisons Consumer Health, Sears Canada and Tilden.

At Franklin Dallas, award-winning art director and writer Randy Diplock has been added to the creative department as copywriter to work closely with Peter Holmes, the agency’s vice-president and creative director.

Diplock operated his own freelance business for the past year, and before that was with Toronto shops, Chiat/Day and Scali McCabe Sloves.

Rick Davis continues to build the Young & Rubicam creative department with the addition of Robin Heisey to the lineup.

Heisey, previously associate creative director at Bozell Palmer Bonner of Toronto, will be working with group creative director Ken Boyd on Ford, Kentucky Fried Chicken and the Olin Brewery brands for Labatt.

Padulo Advertising’s staff rebuilding at its direct marketing unit started with the recent appointment of Paul Allamby as general manager of Direct Solutions Group.

Last November, three high-profile direct marketers left Padulo to join Taylor-Tarpay Direct Advertising.

Direct Solutions’ major clients include Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce, Tourism Canada and Citibank.

Allamby has more than 10 years’ database marketing experience with clients such as American Express, Bank of Montreal, Mattel and Sterling Drugs.

Most recently, he was regional sales manager for Southam Focus, the communication company’s direct response division.
