Bay back to LA

the bay Optical business has bounced back to LA Ads/Lawrence Ayliffe, Toronto, after a short, inactive stint with Padulo Advertising.

The account, with LA for three years, was moved to Padulo without a review earlier this year.

LA launched an aggressive new multi-media campaign last week for the 70-outlet Bay Optical that stresses new price and satisfaction guarantees, and introduces shock-value pricing promoting products such as contact lenses for $49 and disposable lenses for $28.

Rick Padulo, agency chief executive officer, says the split between his agency and Bay Optical was prompted by strategic reasons on both sides.

One of Padulo’s major clients is Zellers, a unit of Hudson’s Bay, which recently announced that Georgia-based National Vision Associates would be opening 160 outlets in its stores over the next three years.

National Vision operates in 130 Wal-Mart stores in the u.s. PS
