After four years with Chiat/ Day, Jack Neary is leaving to rejoin the Toronto office of Cossette Communication-Marketing.
Neary, creative director at Chiat/Day for the past 20 months, first worked at Cossette from 1986-89 with an eight-month break at DDB Needham in 1987.
He takes over Aug. 9 from Gerry Monsier at Cossette.
Monsier has been with the agency for five years, replacing Peter Lanyon as creative director 18 months ago.
Monsier, now on vacation, will be discussing his future with Cossette management when he returns next month.
Chiat/Day President Ira Matathia says he is still in the process of deciding how to replace Neary and is not sure whether the search will extend outside the agency.
Neary’s first agency job came in 1980 with WestCan Advertising, now Scali McCabe Sloves, in Calgary.
He followed his two-year term there with stints at the Calgary offices of McKim and Hayhurst, both for two years.
After nine months with Foote Cone Belding in Toronto, Neary joined Cossette.
