Foug of Montreal, which has the national account for National Bank of Canada business, is now also handling the Ontario portion.
Robert Waring, National Bank’s Ontario marketing manager, says National Bank – Ontario is maintaining contacts with Toronto agencies on a project basis but is relying on Foug for day-to-day advertising needs.
The Ontario assignment was previously with Kornblum International, but National Bank reassessed its Ontario business after the aborted merger between Kornblum and The Communique Group of Toronto last December.
There are 648 National Bank branches in Canada, 99 in Ontario.
National Bank has also hired TamTam of Montreal to handle a project for General Trust, which it bought last year.
The project could result in a long-term assignment for TamTam.
Permanent agency
Celine Cote, marketing project manager for National Bank, says the bank is looking for a permanent agency for General Trust.
Working with TamTam on General Trust is a freelance group of former Blouin Coulombe Dube staffers, all with experience on the Royal Trust account.
A campaign is expected to air in early May.
There are 19 General Trust branches, all in Quebec.
