For the record: More Globe changes

The changes continue at Canada’s national newspaper.

The Globe and Mail has a new publisher, Roger Parkinson, former publisher and president of The Minneapolis Star-Tribune.

In the paper’s magazine division, Len Meadwell has left his post as director of magazine publishing. Meadwell was in the job about nine months.

Bill Greenhalgh, president and chief executive officer of the Globe, says it was Meadwell’s decision to leave. Greenhalgh says it is his understanding Meadwell will work at his own business in Toronto.

Meadwell could not be reached for comment.

Since Meadwell’s departure, Greenhalgh has taken overall responsibility for Broadcast Week and Report on Business Magazine.

Still with ROB Magazine, the title’s new publisher is Steve Petherbridge.

Petherbridge, former editor of the Globe’s classroom edition, is an industry veteran with stints at The Financial Post, The Toronto Star, in Australia and on Fleet Street. He is also a former instructor in the journalism program at Ryerson Polytechnic University (Institute.)

Petherbridge will report to Greenhalgh.
