Computer Brokers launches storage unit

Canadian-owned computer products distributor Computer Brokers of Canada has launched the first phase of a two-tiered program to introduce a computer storage product into the marketplace.

The first stage of the campaign for MobileMAX, made by Maxtor, targets the trade and will be followed by a campaign to the mass market as supplies of the product reach distribution outlets later this year.

MobileMAX is a 1.8-inch computer disc drive small enough to fit into a shirt pocket, but its 105 megabytes of capacity can hold all of the applications and data in the average computer.

MobileMAX, which is a product of the Personal Computer Memory Card International Association, which sets the standard for high storage discs compatible for mass storage of data, will be used primarily by security-conscious computer users who want to keep their database separate from their computer.

Advertising, now appearing in trade magazines, was created by MacPhee Jesson Advertising & Public Relations of Toronto.

The ad features a photo of Albert Einstein holding a MobileMAX and the line, ‘Thinking Big, Just Became Very Small.’ PS
