Paul Carder will hand over the reins on Oct. 1 to Darryl Lindberg, who will take over as chairman of DDB Needham Group, Canada and president of DDB Needham Advertising.
Carder, who announced his retirement this past April, will work with Lindberg for the remainder of the year and on a consulting basis into 1995.
Lindberg has been with DDB Needham Worldwide for 14 years, the last four months on temporary assignment at Tracy-Locke/DDB Needham in Dallas
For the previous four years, he ran the agency network’s office in Sydney, Australia.
The u.s.-born Lindberg began his career in the media department of Benton & Bowles.
He moved to account management at the Marshalk Company before joining DDB Needham New York.
There, he worked on accounts such as American Airlines, Heinz, Seagram, ibm and nec.
In addition to DDB Needham Advertising, the DDB Needham Group in Canada consists of Anderson Advertising, Robins Sharpe Associates, Heather Reid and Associates, Gossage Reid Corporate Communications and the affiliated Hughes Rapp Collins.
