Canadian Pacific Hotels & Resorts has chosen Harrod & Mirlin, of Toronto, to handle the corporate portion of its $10-million account.
CP Hotels initiated a review in April for the first time in 10 years.
That move ended a relationship with BBDO Canada that began in 1889.
bbdo refused to take part in the process.
CP Hotels is also looking for new agencies for two of its five regions, Ontario and Vancouver.
Both accounts were with bbdo.
Jockey club races with Ranscombe
The Ontario Jockey Club has picked Toronto’s Ranscombe & Co. to handle advertising for two of its racetracks – Woodbine Racetrack, in Toronto, and Mohawk Raceway, in Campbellville.
Media buying for the ojc stays with Genesis Media.
Ranscombe launched an ad campaign June 20 consisting of newspaper and radio, with outdoor to break in August.
New creative strategy will focus on the beauty and athleticism of the racehorses.
