Sega of Canada has released its big guns for holiday gift-giving including three arcade-quality games for Sega Saturn, the system launched this past May.
The games, Sega Rally, Virtua Cop and Virtua Fighter 2 , are getting a boost with a promotion called ‘Sega Saturn, A Little Too Real’ running this month on MuchMusic and MusiquePlus.
Each channel will give away three Sega Saturn systems along with copies of the three software titles.
On Nov. 20, the television campaign gets under way with advertising created by u.s. agency Goodby Silverstein and Berlin of San Francisco.
Last month, Sega launched VectorMan for its popular Genesis game system with the first ‘play to win’ video game lottery in North America.
Players with winning game cartridges will see a final screen when they finish the game telling them they are a winner.
At stake is a grand prize of US$25,000, and 10 first prizes of US$10,000 and 90 second prizes of Sega Saturn with Virtua Fighter.
VectorMan is supported with television spots from Goodby and its own World Wide Web site, http://www.segaoa.com/vectorman/main.html, which supports the contest by providing coverage of all aspects of the game. PS
