Arnold Fortuna Lawner & Cabot opens Toronto office

The Toronto office of Boston-based Arnold Fortuna Lawner & Cabot is up and running under the direction of Peter Clark, management supervisor.

Arnold Toronto is operating out of the offices of Genesis Media, which has a dedicated team of three full-time media people working on Volkswagen.

Clark has been a one-man show in Toronto since taking on the post this past summer.

He plans to add a junior account executive in Toronto and already has an account director in Vancouver.

Before joining Arnold, Clark was vice-president, account director on the General Motors business at MacLaren:Lintas (now MacLaren McCann) for four years.

Before that, he worked four years on the same assignment at Saffer Advertising (now Saffer Group.)

He spent eight years in general sales manager positions at General Motors dealerships before moving to the agency side.

Clark says the Toronto office will be working more closely with Arnold in Boston on subsequent Volkswagen campaigns because the first work ‘Drivers Wanted,’ which was strictly u.s. pickup, needed a more Canadian slant.

Seven television spots in the campaign are running in Canada and more executions will be added in the new year.

Clark says after about five more months of fine-tuning the operation in Toronto, it is possible he may look at expanding Arnold beyond Volkswagen in Canada.

Some of Arnold’s u.s. clients include McDonald’s, Nynex, Stanley Tools (a division of Black & Decker), Blue Cross, Titleist Golf and Mobil Oil.
