Adidas Canada has chosen Promanad Communications of Mississauga, Ont. as its new agency after three years of handling advertising in-house.
Promanad will handle adaptation of creative from the u.s. and Germany for the Canadian market, dealer programs and other special Canada-only needs.
The agency will also provide media consultation and some buying, with adidas continuing to handle the rest.
Doug Hayes, adidas Canada vice-president of marketing, says the company will continue its tsn and Cineplex-Odeon advertising, but adds it has plans for new campaigns in 1996, including transit in spring and a mainstream national television effort expected mid-year.
Adidas Canada took its ad business in-house in 1992 after Germany-based adidas hired Leagas Delaney of the u.k. to handle its worldwide account.
Young & Rubicam previously had the assignment for more than six years.
