– Workers Compensation Board of B.C. has awarded its business to the Vancouver office of Cossette Communication-Marketing. The account, estimated at $1 million, was inherited by Wasserman & Partners earlier this year after J. Walter Thompson, which had it for six years, closed its Vancouver office.
– Spiegel of Downers Grove, Ill. has appointed FCB Canada to handle the Canadian launch of the Spiegel catalogue in January. All media will be placed by Optimedia, fcb’s media management arm.
– Electrohome has named Cundari Group agency of record for its $1 million account for its projection systems and display systems divisions. On the short-list were incumbent Cormark Communications of London, Ont. and Campaign House, Kelley Advertising and Sutton Javelin Communications, all of Toronto.
– The International Council of Shopping Centers of New York has hired LA Ads of Toronto to reposition and relaunch its Kids Sense program in Canada. More than 300 Canadian shopping centres participate in the program, which promotes child safety.
– The National Advertising Benevolent Society has chosen Ambrose Carr Linton Kelly of Toronto as its new agency. Leo Burnett previously handled the pro bono account for nabs, a non-profit charitable industry organization.
– InContext has appointed Big Black Hat of Toronto to take charge of the North American launch of InContext Spider. The new World Wide Web page authoring software will be introduced in January in consumer and trade computer and online publications.
