Peter Lanyon and Chuck Phillips are back together in a reorganized version of their Vancouver agency called Lanyon Phillips & Partners.
Lanyon will be based in Toronto and split his time between the two cities.
Vancouver businessman Russell Brink has sold his shares in Lanyon Phillips Brink to Lanyon; Don Veinish, president; Simon Cameron, creative director, and Tim Kelly, art director.
Lanyon’s presence in Toronto takes the firm out of the regional agency box and into the national arena.
He is working on a project for one of Lanyon Phillips & Partners’ Toronto-based clients.
Since leaving Lanyon Phillips Brinks 18 months ago to become president and chief creative officer of MacLaren:Lintas (now MacLaren McCann) of Toronto, Lanyon says he has really missed the agency.
‘I invested a lot of myself in the agency, now I’ve got the best of both worlds,’ he says.
‘Chuck [Phillips] is a happy guy again, and so am I. It’s been a long journey, but now it’s better than it ever was.’
Lanyon resigned from MacLaren after less than three months.
Since then, he has worked on various advertising projects, and songwriting, including a number of songs for Canadian country artist Joan Kennedy. PS
