– Ontario Pork, which represents more than 7,000 pork producers in the province, has named The Gingko Group of Toronto its agency of record.

– Fairweather, the Dylex-owned women’s clothing chain of 73 stores, has given its ad account to Sparkplug Marketing & Communications, a Toronto agency opened last January.

– Adidas Canada has picked Promanad Communications of Mississauga, Ont. as its new agency after three years of handling advertising in-house.

– The Honda Dealers Association, Prairie Region has chosen Clark Communications of Winnipeg to handle its account.

– Liazon Communication Solutions, a Markham, Ont. paging and messaging company, has given its public relations assignment to Atkins & Ellis Corporate and Communications of Toronto and will begin an ad agency search early in the new year.

– Societe des alcools du Quebec has awarded two-year contracts to two Montreal agencies. Groupaction Marketing, the Societe’s brand agency for two terms, has been given the corporate account valued at $4.5 million a year.

The business was previously with Marketel. Allard Communication-Marketing has won the $1-million-a-year brand assignment.

– Finnair and Finncharter have awarded their Canadian ad accounts to Montana Steele Advertising of Toronto. A new campaign will be out soon for Finnair, the official carrier of Santa Claus.

– Rosedale Wallcoverings and Fabric, a manufacturer based in Concord, Ont., has named Johnson Wiltshire McDermott of Brampton, Ont. as its agency for North American business-to-business and retail advertising. Media will be handled by Genesis.
