Unitel Communications expects to name a new agency by the end of the year.
Six Toronto agencies have been short-listed for the account estimated at more than $20 million.
They are incumbent Ogilvy & Mather, which has had the business for three years; Carter Craig; FCB Canada, MacLaren McCann; Vickers & Benson, and Young & Rubicam.
Carol Ann Horvat, Unitel director of advertising, consumers, says the process is part of the company’s policy of reviewing contracts every three years.
Unitel will also be under new ownership by the end of the year.
AT&T Canada, along with the Bank of Nova Scotia, Toronto-Dominion Bank and Royal Bank, agreed in September to buy the long-distance company from Canadian Pacific and Rogers Communications.
