Canadians get the nod in London

Canadians made a good showing recently at the 10th Annual London International Advertising Awards.

The competition, held Nov. 13 in London, England, attracted 11,467 entries from 70 countries.

In the television/cinema competition, BBDO Canada of Toronto won best public service campaign for its work for The Salvation Army.

Rosnick MacKinnon of Toronto got the best original music with lyrics award for ‘Live,’ a tv spot created for Coca-Cola Canada by McCann.

In the radio competition, bbdo with Jungle Music Productions won best campaign for Molson’s Red Dog Beer and first place in the beverages-alcohol section for Red Dog spot, ‘Cats.’

Pirate Radio, Toronto took first place in the humor and retail services categories in the radio competitions for the Telepersonals commercial, ‘More Perfect Woman.’

Promanad Communications of Mississauga, Ont. won in radio’s retail foods section for Pizzaville Pizza spot ‘Misunderstandings.’

Lowe SMS of Toronto got the best automotive print award for its ‘Lonely At The Top’ ad for Mercedes-Benz.

Holmes Donin Alloul of Toronto was tops in the home furnishings/appliances category of the print competition for its work for Rubinet Faucets.

Dollery Rudman Design Associates won the foods category in the package design competition for BBQ Champs sauces for Uncle Ben’s of Houston.

Werle Design Associates, Toronto was awarded in the home products category for Master Choice Ultimate Ultra laundry detergent.
