Molson Breweries may leave the post of senior vice-president marketing in the national office vacant after the promotion of David Perkins to president of Ontario and Atlantic regions last month.
Barry Joslin, senior vice-president corporate affairs, says the company is still assessing whether someone is needed to head marketing on a national basis under the new decentralized structure.
Joslin says it is possible the marketing responsibilities will be divided up among the regions and existing staff.
Two other jobs have been eliminated as part of Molson’s restructuring:
Charles Gamble, vice-president of marketing resources, has left the company and will not be replaced.
Gamble was responsible for a wide range of marketing functions, including research, media planning and buying.
Pat Laforge, vice-president of Sante Fe and International, has also had his position eliminated.
The international business has been consolidated under Gene Lewis, vice-president of business development, who has been given an expanded role.
