Bell Mobility has made the elusive character ‘Waldo’ the star of a multi-faceted promotional campaign which is running throughout the months of May and June.
Waldo is a character for whom children search in a series of books of highly populated illustrations.
Called Where’s Waldo, the new promotion revolves around the company’s $29.95 ‘Your Choice’ plan for its Liberti phone.
Customers can pay just $99 for the first year of service by committing to a three-year contract and prepaying the regular yearly fee of $199.
Bell then credits another $100 to the customer’s account.
There are also special price packages for six and 12 months of Mobility Paging.
In addition, visitors to Bell Mobility stores receive a Where’s Waldo? Sweepstakes coupon with the chance to win one of five grand prizes of cellular service for life, a value of $780 per year; 50 prizes of one year of cellular service; or 100 prizes of a Motorola flip phone.
Bell Mobility is also selling Waldo stickers at its stores for $1.50 each with all proceeds going to Child Find, an organization which helps reunite missing children with their parents.
The promotion is supported with television, radio, newspapers, billboards, posters and in-store material from Cossette Communication-Marketing of Toronto.
One of the features of the television component is Waldo sightings.
Waldo will be seen strolling across the screen during programming such as Lois & Clark. Viewers will be prompted to call a 1-800 number to get information about the promotion.
The company featured Waldo in a Bell Mobility Paging promotion earlier this year.
