Bell Mobility has joined forces with Future Shop in the launch of a new retail concept called Wireless Universe.
Wireless Universe is a mini-Bell Mobility store located within selected Future Shop locations in Ontario and Quebec. The shops sell Bell’s wireless communications products and services.
Stores housing the new shops are co-branded outside with a Wireless Universe sign above the Future Shop logo.
The first outlet has been opened in Ajax, Ont. and the second will be opened in downtown Montreal by the end of the month.
A total of six or seven Wireless Universe shops are expected to open in the next few months and negotiations are underway for expanding the concept to include even more of the 35-plus Future Shop stores in the two provinces.
The Wireless Universe boutiques cover approximately 750 sq. ft. inside Future Shop locations.
They are interactive, with self-driven product demonstrations, and give customers the chance to try out the Internet.
Responsibility for advertising Wireless Universe is with Future Shop. MacLaren McCann handles all broadcast creative and media for the company while print is taken care of in-house.
Future Shop operates 88 consumer electronics and computer stores across Canada and reports annual sales of more than $1.3 billion.
