Energizer Canada is using a little-known agency for the national print portion of a campaign promoting its Energizer alkaline on-battery tester. The ads are running in the November issues of a cross-section of Canadian consumer magazines.
The agency, Toronto-based Carassi, has also created point-of-sale material and trade ads in publications directed to supermarkets, drug and department stores. Those ads started in September.
Meanwhile, television advertising launched mid-September from Energizer’s aor, TBWA Chiat/Day of Toronto.
Energizer, a division of Ralston Purina Canada, was previously known as Eveready Canada but changed its name in July to reflect its popular flagship brand.
Carassi is a Toronto-based agency with nine offices in Europe, the Middle East and Far East.
Although it has been doing work for Energizer Canada’s smoke alarm and its Hi Energy Lithium batteries for professional photographers for about four years, most of its business is offshore.
Mark Carassi, agency president, says his firm’s niche is dealing with the export divisions of international companies.
The agency’s client list includes Pirelli Tires, British Tourist Authority, Lotus Development Corp., Mazda and Ford.
Carassi says he does most of his commercial production in Toronto, adding the agency’s spots for Ford and Mazda, for example, are seen in the United Arab Emirates while its work for Pirelli appears in markets in the Middle and Far East.
