MacDonald joins Brandworks

Bill MacDonald, former president of The Gingko Group, has joined three-year-old Brandworks International of Toronto as a partner.

He joins three other partners in the 12-person firm: Michael Clancy, creative director; Lorne Kirshenbaum, account director; and Ron Chapman, executive producer and director.

MacDonald will concentrate on strategic planning and new business development for the agency, which he describes as one that ‘believes in the soul of the brand and getting it right from top to bottom.’

MacDonald had been at Gingko for a year and a half when he resigned his post in November.

Before that, he was executive vice-president of business development at Padulo Integrated.

Brandworks clients include Kaufman Footwear of Kitchener (Sorel, Foamtread, Kingtread, and Defrosters brands); The Globe and Mail; North American Watch (Esquire brand); Atomic skis; Instore Products; and Systech, which markets retail point-of-sale systems.
